About Us
MVP is an unprecedented multi-racial, multigenerational alliance of nine community-driven state and regional networks, reaching out to millions of voters across the state.
We believe that systemic change is won by on-the-ground organizing, connecting directly with our communities, and amplifying our stories and vision for a more just California. MVP works with its 120+ local affiliates and thousands of grassroots leaders to lead year-round organizing that builds political power in communities most impacted by economic and social inequality.
Since 2015, we have collectively built a base of nearly 2.1 million supportive voters and political infrastructure designed to win statewide and regional races. We are activating the rising California majority by organizing Black, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI), Latino, and young voters and employing voter outreach programs with cultural competency and in multiple languages.
Our goal is to create a government that cares for ALL OF US by mobilizing one million new and neglected voters to the polls around an agenda of equity and inclusion for all.
Our History
In 2015, we formally launched the Million Voters Project with the goal of combining and concentrating the power of community organizations to achieve unprecedented impact in statewide elections. Here are some highlights of our work and the work of our sister organization MVP Action Fund (MVPAF):

Our Partners
The MVP partners bring extensive expertise in state and national policy issues such as housing, immigration, criminal justice and climate justice. They lead year-round organizing and leadership development programs with the rising California electorate, including faith-based communities, AAPI communities, young people, immigrants and refugees, and Black Californians. AAPI Force Education Fund, an alliance of community organizations serving Asian American and Pacific Islanders across California, is building a powerful AAPI political bloc. Our campaigns center the needs of working-class immigrant and refugee families, speaking to voters in their own languages and empowering young voters to build power for positive change in our communities.

ACCE is a grassroots, member-led organization with over 15,000 members statewide. ACCE’s mission is to improve the lives of California's traditionally underserved residents, including communities of color, low-income and working families, and the undocumented population, by fostering deep leadership development, policy creation, robust civic participation, and broad community empowerment.

California Black Power Network is a united ecosystem of Black-led and Black-serving grassroots organizations working to change the lived conditions of Black Californians by dismantling systemic and anti-Black racism. CBPN builds and protects Black political power through robust policy change work, civic engagement to increase voter and community participation, direct action and mass protest, and cultural and narrative power.

California Calls, an alliance of 31 grassroots community organizations, organizes voters most impacted by budget cuts and deteriorating public services in support of systemic, progressive solutions to our state’s fiscal crisis. Working together, and including those who are often left out of policy decisions, we can reclaim the California Dream of equality, opportunity and prosperity for all Californians.

CHIRLA is one of the largest and most effective advocates for immigrant rights, where civic-minded immigrant families work for a world where they are free to move, participate in democracy, and enjoy human rights. CHIRLA relies on the love and vision of our community to build power among people, institutions, and organizations to change public opinion and craft policies that promote human, civil and labor rights.

As a coalition, Inland Empire (IE) United Education Fund organizes civic engagement activities and programs that uplift historically disenfranchised communities in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. We do this by partnering with community based organizations who share our values for a thriving Inland community for all.

OC Action was founded in 2017 to build an AAPI-Latinx-Labor-Environmental Justice Alliance and to develop progressive political power. This has been the result of decades of community organizing and integrated voter engagement in the region.OC Action is committed to a long-term progressive transformation of the electorate and will continue to move towards the change that our people deserve.

PICO CA is the largest multi-racial faith-based community-organizing network in the state, leveraging people power to impact broad systemic change. Motivated by prophetic traditions, we ground our civic action and demands for change in moral and ethical principles. Our network uses a relationship-based model to develop leadership, training leaders with tools to fight racism and build a more equitable and just society.

Power California is a statewide multi-racial civic engagement organization made up of on-the-ground community partners in urban, suburban and rural communities throughout the state. We are building the power of young people of color and their families to participate and lead systems of government at all levels and to ensure that voters and elected leaders mirror the rich diversity that is California.
